Hi all,
I'm looking for an accessible sprint phone because I'm planning on getting a new one. Something that is easy to use, functions well, and the features are easy to access. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful
Thanks

If you can find Acces World on line, the September issue is supposed to review accessible cellphones, and there's one from Sprint listed. As to how accessible it is, I don't know. Just saw an announcement of the review.

Also I heard the June issue of The Braille Monitor has an extensive review of accessible phones. You can probably find it on the NFB website.

I know that the smart phones are accessible if you purchase mobile speak.

one phone from sprint is accessible. It's the sprint ppc6700 and it works with Mobile speak pocket. I don't know where you can read more about it but, there are reviews of devices like that on acb radio's main menu show and the blind cool tech podcast. for main menu, go to www.acbradio.org/mainmenu. For blind cool tech, go to For main menu, choose the 25 June 2000 www.blindcooltech.com and chose the hw6915 link. that will download a review for that phone.

for main menu, go to the links labeled 25 June 2006 and 2 July 2006. Both of these reviews are in .mp3 format so you'll get a demo of what these phones sound like.

There is also a new version of Mobile Speak called Mobile Speak Smartphone. It runs on phone running Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone edition as opposed to the pocket pc version. I am currently testing a Cingular 2125 with a 30 day trial version of this version of Mobile Speak. It seems pretty good, depending on what you want in a cell phone.
